It’s been a while since I’ve come across an extraordinary scent and this is one you won’t regret getting for your girlfriend, especially if she hates girly scents, or if she loves roses. (please scroll to the bottom for the poetic inside story behind the scent French-style)

Paying tribute the multi-facetted modern women, Kenzo Parfums’ latest poppy inspired fragrance Flower In The Air

is also spelled “surprising, tender and gentle and at the same time passionate and sensual”. I love how the scent evolves from a surprising fruity first whiff into delicate refreshing sensual bouquet of a crisp, creamy and not-too-sweet cushion of rose petals with an almost invisible citrusy lemon, before settling into lingering elegant and feminine notes that is not musky at all, despite its musk base note.

This scent is suitable for use in the day and evening.

The packaging of this perfume is worth noting, especially its cap which is like poppy petals that need to be “plucked” to smell the “roses” (please see image above-left). It’s simply a creative design I’d love to keep on my dresser as an inspiration to start each new day anew.

This Eau de Parfum lifts your mood with fruity floral top notes of pepper and raspberry. The scent then evolves into a feminine blend that depicts strength and delicateness, marked by crisp yet sensual blend of four rose-inspired essences Rose Oxide (a modern, vibrant energy), Rosebud (steam distilled rose petals), May Rose infusion and May Rose Absolute, refreshed by illuminating notes of gardenia and magnolia and a base note of white musk.

Designed by Serge Mansau, who designed the original FlowerByKenzo bottle, this flacon is “three fossilized blocks of water in the shape of a poppy mimicking a water-lily, which has the strength to rise and diffuse the delicate olfactory creation of Alberto Morillas”.
