NATAS Travel 2016 opens at the Singapore EXPO Hall 7 with much pomp and support from ambassadors of various countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Chile and Spain. Guest-of-Honour, His Excellency, Mr Miguel Angel Navarro Portera, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain graced the ceremony with his presence.
National Tourism Organisations (NTOs)
Nine NTOs participating at the Fair are from countries that include Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, Shandong (China), Thailand and the U.S. This August, Brazil will be hosting the summer Olympics. Learn more about the country and also the locations where the games are to be held at this fair. For the first time the National Tourism Bureau of the nation of Kazakhstan is participating in the NATAS fair. Check out their counter at the Fair, 7H40A.
Travel: Albatross Travel (Booth: 7H04) offers wine tours and cruises. In Thailand, check out newest Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa in Phuket and Rawi Warin Resort & Spa in Koh Lanta, Thailand (Booth: 7H65).
Food and Sips: Tea Valley (Booth: F8) serving up yummilious Taiwanese fare such as braised meat rice, hot and sour soup and fragrant and cold tea, not to be missed. Tea Ideas (Booth: F11) offers convenient and elegantly packed quality tea leaves in a wand. The variety goes beyond earl grey and green tea to encompass basil which helps soothe symptoms such as arthritis. Slayer Coffee (Booth:F7) serves up killer coffee that will have you bounce off the walls. Si Chuan Dou Hua (Booth: F2) offering a discounted 30% for their wonderful Si Chuan delicacies. Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant (Booth: F3) had one of the longest queue for their Turkish kebabs. In Vino Veritas (Booth: F6) offers generous portions of wine sampling and wines at a discount.
Travel Add-Ons: WAttention (Booth: 7H16) Among the exhibitors at this booth, look out for the gentleman promoting the Free Wi-Fi App for travellers in Japan. The app can be downloaded and activated in Singapore. With this free Wi-Fi ticket, you can receive free Wi-Fi at selected spots in downtown Tokyo for two weeks.
Entertainment at the Fair
Rest your feet and enjoy performances from a few countries such as Spain, Indonesia and India entertain guests at the opening ceremony. They will also be part of the various cultural performances arranged over the three day affair. Other than stage performances, more helpful information such as travel photography tips will be offered by guest speakers such as Lance Leong, an instructor at Canon Singapore. His talk is schedule to be at noon on 5 March.

NATAS’ Strategic Healthcare Partner, Tan Tock Seng Hospital will provide advice on travel related vaccinations and health matters at their booth 7H14 and a doctor will be giving a talk at 1.30pm on 5 March on stage where Stages Performances are usually held. Travellers going to Brazil for the summer Olympics can seek advice from TTSH on how best to protect themselves from the recent Zika virus outbreak.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) launches its thrice-weekly A350 service to Düsseldorf, Germany on 21 July 2016.
